FRONTLINE PET CARE

FAQ

  • How to use FRONTLINE® HOMEGARD Household Spray?

Thoroughly vacuum the room. Close windows and open interior and cupboard doors. Remove animals, their food and water bowls and cover aquariums. Protect food, cookware and varnished or other delicate surfaces.

Shake the can well. Test on a small non-visible surface. While spraying, hold the container upright at a distance of 20 cm from the surface to be treated. A 5 second burst should cover approx. 2m2. Leave the room and close the door. At the earliest 30 minutes later, come back and ventilate. May be used on carpets, rugs, wooden floors, chairs, pet bedding and kennels and in the car. Also treat under furniture and be particularly thorough on areas likely to be highly infested, such as around pet resting areas. Repeat use if required. Do not use on pets. • Is there a risk of damage to carpets, curtains, sofas…etc.. ?

Neither the FRONTLINE® HOMEGARD spray nor the FRONTLINE® HOMEGARD Fogger will stain and neither is sticky. They should not damage wool carpets, synthetic or cotton curtains or fabric sofas including suede and leather.

For very delicate fabrics (e.g. silk) you can cover them with a cotton sheet before using the Spray or the Fogger. It’s also possible to do a patch test on a small area beforehand if you are unsure.

  • Should we remove plants or animals?

Yes you must remove all animals and people from the area to be treated including cats, dogs, fishes and reptiles. If it’s not possible to remove fish tanks, cover the aquarium with plastic film and blankets. You don’t have to remove or cover green plants. Foodstuff should be removed to the fridge or into closed cupboards.

  • How to use a room fogger?

For best results, when facing a flea home infestation you should treat your whole house. As each can of FRONTLINE® HOMEGARD Room Fogger treats a surface area of 40 to 80 m2, several cans may be required to treat an entire home. Don’t worry, it doesn’t stain, doesn’t stick and doesn’t leave an unpleasant odour!

Thoroughly vacuum the room and soft furnishings. Close windows and open interior doors and cupboards within the area to be treated. Remove animals, their food and water bowls and cover aquariums. Protect food, cookware and varnished or other delicate surfaces.  Place the fogger in the middle of the room on a raised surface (e.g. chair or table) protected with newspaper. Point the top of the can away from the face and depress the ridged trigger until it locks. Leave the room and close the door. Diffusion will be complete in around 2 minutes. Keep the room closed for at least 4 hours before returning to ventilate. The fogger will only treat exposed surfaces. Treat under furniture and any other hidden areas with FRONTLINE® HOMEGARD Household Flea Spray. In heavy infestations, a second application may be necessary. • What are your products made from?

FRONTLINE PET CARE skin and coat care products are made from two main ingredients: Rhamnose and Luminescine. These two molecules are ECOCERT certified . Luminescine is a natural plant extract that deflects harmful UV rays and enhances colour and radiance for a brilliant natural shine.

  • How often should I bathe my cat?

As cats groom themselves quite thoroughly every day, frequent bathing is not always necessary. But if their coat is dirty, dull, dusty or if your cat smells bad, don’t hesitate to bathe them.

Obese or long hair cats might also need to be bathed more often as their self-grooming may not be as complete and thorough.

  • Where are your products made?

Most of the FRONTLINE PET CARE products are made in France with the exception of FRONTLINE HOMEGARD Household Spray, which is made in the Republic of Ireland.

  • How often should I bathe my dog?

You can bathe your dog from 2 months of age. We recommend to bathe up to once a month as necessary.

If your dogs smell bad, if they scratch a lot, if their coat is dirty, dull or dusty, don’t hesitate to bathe them.

  • Why is grooming important for my pet?

You might think grooming your pets is just to keep them looking good. But it's also about maintaining your pet's physical health.

Grooming helps to remove dead hair, dirt, tangles and dandruff. While you brush, the natural oils spread through your pet's fur, leaving the coat with a healthy sheen.
